Recognizing Our Supporters

Dominion Helps St. Mary's Recognize Supporters

As a nonprofit organization, St. Mary’s looks to the community for annual support. State and federal funding offsets part of the cost of caring for St. Mary’s residents, but private donations are essential. The Home receives contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations and also is a certified United Way Agency (Agency Code #5039; CFC #10064)

Christopher Reeve Grant Keeps Our Kids Comfortable

St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children has received a Quality of Life Grant from the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. The $11,360 award paid for a computerized pressure mapping seating system that will help prevent skin-pressure problems in our residents. Click here to watch a story about the grant on WAVY-TV, or click here for more information.

St. Mary's Children Have More Fun Thanks to Grant

St. Mary's bought and installed play equipment specially designed for children with disabilties using a $7,500 grant from Chartway Federal Credit Union’s We Promise Foundation. Learn more about the grant here.

The equipment is in a new playground at St. Mary's. Click here to read an article about the dedication of the playground and newly furbished gardens in The Virginian-Pilot newspaper, or click here for more information about that event.
